BBC Pavilion, Functional sculpture, Cannes
by Giles Miller Studio
BBC pavilion built in Cannes as a parametric structure, was entirely modeled and produced using parametric modelling. This allowed us to test the opening and closing of the main facade dynamically in the model and check it. The full set of drawings was also exported from the software and went on to the laser cutter. The pavilion is created from aluminium - a recyclable material and is easy to mount/dismount and re-assembled every year.
I have attached some screenshots from development stage to present the whole designing process hiding behind the curtains.
